Leasing a Premises

You can either buy or lease suitable premises for your business. Your first step is to seek advice from financial and legal professionals who can assist you according to your circumstances and business needs. If leasing premises is the right option for you, then make sure that you are across every aspect of the premises before negotiations begin with your letting agent. The agent and the landlord have limited disclosure obligations, so beware. Be sure that the location is appropriate for your commercial needs.

Make sure that you fully understand the terms and conditions of any letter of offer or intention to sign. Do not pay a deposit without knowing the deal you are committing yourself to because the viability of your business may be affected by the terms of your lease. Get written advice from your expert commercial lawyer before you sign any document pertaining to your lease. If you do not understand your rights and the terms of your lease, you may inadvertently breach your lease or forfeit significant rights.

Leasing a Premises? How Anumis Legal can assist you:

Drafting your commercial or retail lease

Negotiating with landlord/tenant on your behalf

Ensuring compliance with the retail shop lease legislation

Advising you on your rights, obligations, and risks under the terms of the lease
