When Will I Need To Update My Will?

If any of the following circumstances happen, then you must make an appointment with Anumis Legal to update your will:

You change your name

You want to revoke your will

You want to make any changes to your will

A person named as a beneficiary in your will dies

Anyone mentioned in your will changes their name

You sell any property you have specifically referred to in your will, or such property changes its nature

Your family situation changes. For example: by divorce proceedings; or if you adopt or you have additional children who you wish to include as beneficiaries in your will; or the dissolution or annulment of a marriage which can revoke dispositions to a spouse and revoke appointment of a spouse as executor or trustee

You marry, or enter into a Registered Relationship, pursuant to the Registered Relationship Act 2011, after the date of making your will. This has the effect of revoking your will by law, unless you have expressly stated in your will that your will is made in contemplation of marriage or the registration of your civil partnership.
